Throughout July, VHCC is proud to celebrate Disability Pride Month 2026, joining communities across Australia in recognising the achievements, diversity and lived experiences of people with disabilities.

As part of this year’s celebrations, the VHCC Ballarat team will be attending the Celebrating Disability in Our Community – Panel Discussion and Lunch, hosted by the City of Ballarat in partnership with the Ballarat Working Together Group.

This important community event brings together people with disability, carers, service providers, community organisations and local leaders to celebrate disability pride, promote inclusion and encourage meaningful conversations about creating more accessible and welcoming communities.

At VHCC, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to live life their way. We are passionate about supporting people with disabilities to build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, participate in their community and achieve their personal goals. Events like these provide an opportunity to listen, learn and collaborate with others who share a commitment to creating a more inclusive future.

The panel discussion will feature speakers with lived experience of disability, sharing their stories, perspectives and insights on disability identity, inclusion and belonging. Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to network over lunch and strengthen partnerships that help improve outcomes for people with disability across the Ballarat region.

Our Ballarat team is looking forward to connecting with local disability organisations, community groups and participants while exploring new ways to develop inclusive programs that empower people to thrive.

Celebrating Disability in Our Community – Panel Discussion and Lunch

Date: Thursday 2 July 2026
Time: 11:00am – 12:15pm, followed by lunch and networking until 1:00pm
Location: Trench Room, Ballarat Town Hall

Lunch will be provided, and the event has been designed with accessibility in mind. A hearing loop and AUSLAN interpreter will be available, and attendees are encouraged to advise of any additional accessibility requirements when registering.
